Click for Video Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekasing chaired a meeting at Pattaya City Hall to discuss the “Pattaya’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2012 Project”.
He was accompanied by Father Dr. Picharn Jaiseree, the Director of the parade, which will be held on Saturday, March 17th. The first St. Paddy’s parade in Pattaya was held last year, and eagerly joined by most of the Irish in Pattaya. The CEO of Pattaya People Media Group Mr. Niels Colov, Father Pakarapong See-wor-ra-goon, the Chairman of Tourism and Sports of the Pattaya City Council Mr. Ratanachai Sut-ti-de-cha-nai, the Rep from Father Ray Foundation and government authorities also attended the meeting. The event celebrates the great St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who died on 17 March in the year 461. He introduced Christianity to the emerald isle, and established many churches and schools. Today, St. Patrick's Day is probably the most widely celebrated saint’s day in the world, with parades for St. Paddy in almost every major city, including Tokyo and Montreal. The parade will start from Pattaya School No. 8, opposite Chaimongkon Temple on South Pattaya Road, and will march up to the Alcazar Show Hall along Pattaya’s 2nd Road, a distance of 3.5 km. The official press conference will be held on March 5th at Pattaya City Hall. News stories placed on this website are short versions.
