A press conference was held on Thursday by Laem Chabang Police Superintendent Pol. Col. Sak-ra-pee Piao-pa-nit to publicize the arrest of Mrs. Pranee or Oy Ku-na-saeng, aged 43, from Banglamung. She was detained for Cheating and Falsifying Official Documents, after a group of people pressed charges against her. They had purchased car insurance policies from her, but when they put in claims for compensation, the company replied that their policies were fake.
The truth that Mrs. Pranee falsified the car insurance policies was revealed recently, when accidents happened to the clients of Thai Panit Samakkee Assurance Ltd. She had faked the insurance documents and sold them at a lower price than the company. She was trusted by the clients because she worked for an Ao-u-dom car garage that the insurance company always used for repairing damaged cars. She became familiar with the forms, then decided to make fake ones to sell for 12,000 Baht, less than the real price fixed by the company, for quick money.
She copied the forms and sold to 16 unsuspecting victims. The total damage owed to the car owners is 206,800 Baht, and there will be more to follow if any more accidents happen to them. She was sent to face legal prosecution and pay the price.
