On Friday afternoon, Banglamung Police Superintendent Pol. Col. Somneuk Jangaid received information that a drug trade was about to be committed in front of Mini Siam, on Sukhumvit Road, and that the suspect would be driving a bronze BMW.
The police surrounded the area, and at the reported time, the bronze BMW showed up, just as reported. The officers identified themselves to search the car. The driver Mr. Tongchai Chiew-pree-cha, aged 33 from Cha-choeng-sao province, was arrested with 2,000 Yah Bah tabs in the front console of the car. The drugs were packed into 20 bags, each bag containing 200 tablets.
The offender confessed to being a delivery man many times for a fellow called Mr. Kamon Jaimahn, aged 32. This time, the courier picked up the drugs at an agreed spot in North Pattaya, to deliver to a client in front of Mini Siam. He received a 5,000 Baht fee for each delivery.
Further investigations will continue, as well as a press conference by the Commissioner of Royal Thai Police Bureau, Region 2, Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Panya Mamen.
