Click for Video On Sunday at the Sawang Prateep Foundation in Sriracha, the 9th Graveyard Clearance Ceremony started with a Grand Opening conducted by -
Chonburi’s Governor Mr. Jomsan Ekachai, accompanied by the Mr. Sansak Jaroon Ngam-pi-chate and Mr. Sontaya Khunpleum. March through May is the usual time for Graveyard Cleaning, and Chinese-Thai Buddhists from all over the country always perform this service by digging up dead bodies to let them be cremated. A proper funeral will send their souls to a better place. This ceremony started nearly 100 years ago and it has been considered a way to earn great merit, for oneself and the deceased.
