The Irish, and the would be Irish, were out in splendid regalia on Saint Patrick’s Day Saturday. The first parading of the green last year was very successful, so Mr. Derek Cane continued with a 2nd Saint Patrick’s Parade on Pattaya Beach Road to raise funds for the Father Ray Foundation.
Government and private sectors all contributed to this celebration, such as Pattaya City Hall with Mayor Ittipon Khunpleum, Pattaya People Media Group with CEO Mr. Niels Colov, Father Ray Foundaton represented by Father Patarapong Sri-wor-ra-goon and Dr. Pichahn Jai-say-ree, etc, as well as hundreds of business owners and tourists in Pattaya.
Green is the color for Saint Patrick’s Day and Ireland, and Beach Road was awash with emerald hues to honor of Saint Patrick, who helped the Irish people for 30 years before passing away on March 17th. Almost 30 groups and 8 Marching Bands from Pattaya Schools joined the procession, as the parade started at the Alcazar Theater on Pattaya’s 2nd Road.
Saint Patrick’s Day’s Parade was a big hit once again, even bigger than the 1st one in 2011. Led by the Irish contingent with lots of international back up, Saint Paddy’s Parade may be listed as one of the most meaningful activities in Pattaya, as everyone is pleased to help to the people with disabilities under the care of Father Ray Foundation.
