On Monday, in front of the Sattahip District office, Khun Chaichan Iemcharoen, Sattahip District’s Chief Officer, presented seeds valued at 500,000 Baht to Sub-district and village headmen from 10 villages in the areas of Sattahip, Plutaluang and Najomtien. The seeds will be given to the villagers in each area to plant and earn income for their families, in accord with the sufficiency economy of His Majesty the King. The presentation was witnessed by Khun Pikul Sopha, a Municipal Clerk of Sattahip, and heads of departments.

Khun Chaichan said that due to the worldwide downturn in the economy, and the effects of the mega flood on society, which have greatly affected the Thai people, daily essential items have become quite expensive. Thailand is also dealing with the problem of unemployment as well as criminal and drug difficulties. The Sattahip District is well aware of the living expenses for people in the area, so the principal of the sufficiency economy has been applied via an allocation from the budget. This will provide a very good quality of seeds for the villagers to improve their livelihoods.
