On Wednesday, Sattahip Investigating Inspector, Pol. Capt. Ekachai Moonlee was called for assistance with a man called Mr. Shyachit Seenuan, aged 23. He had begun to hallucinate, and started attacking his mother and neighbors in the Koonsuk 5 Villas in Sattahip. Over 20 police and police volunteers were sent to deal with this situation.
Mr. Shyachit was found waving 2 chopping blades in his hands, running in and out and destroying the furniture in 3 homes, while over 20 people, men, women, children and elders from the neighborhood, including foreigners, were brandishing wooden sticks and homemade weapons in their hands, huddling together to protect themselves. A foreign neighbor was kicked by the crazy man, causing him to injure his head by hitting the ground.
Mr. Shyachit ran into a bushy area behind the villas after destroying the neighbors’ property. The mother of Mr. Shyachit, Mrs. Bunliam Wansopa, aged 46 and his father who had entered the monkhood years ago, Pra-wichai Seenuan, aged 51, were asked to help calm down their outrageous son, but to no avail, as their son began attacking them verbally and physically, until the residents could not stand it anymore.
The neighbors attacked Mr. Shyachit all at once, and the police took this opportunity to apprehend him, and take him to the Sattahip Police Station. The mother stated that he has been addicted to Yah Bah for a long time, and has had to take 3 tabs minimum per day. Mr. Shyachit was considered to be a patient in need of medical care, and will be sent to Sritanya Hospital for mental and drug related disorders shortly.
