At 2 am on Thursday, the Pattaya Police Deputy Suppressing Inspector Pol. Capt. Neditorn Rat-ta-na-su-cha-nan were summoned for help with a fire at the Karam Masala Indian Restaurant on the south side of Pattaya’s Third Road. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team and Pattaya’s Rescue Station were also called for assistance.
The burning Indian Restaurant was a 4-floor-shophouse, with the restaurant on the ground floor, and the other floors rented apartments. The smoke was coming from an office on the 2nd floor, and it took the firefighters 20 minutes to successfully douse the flames. The estimate for the damage was 100,000 Baht, but the good news was that there were no injuries.
A staff person, Miss Wanwisa, aged 25, stated that the restaurant remains open until 11 pm, but the office on the 2nd floor closes at 5 pm, so There was no one in the office when the fire started. The CCTV video will be reviewed, and further investigations will be made after the footage is studied.
