On Saturday evening at Pattaya School No. 2, the people from Southern Part of Thailand held a reunion party to build enduring friendships with each other. The President of the Southern Peoples’ Association Mr. Somsin Tipmanee invited everyone at the party to enjoy the appetizing food and the live music.
Lucky Draw prizes were one of the highlights of the party, and VIP Guests also came to the party, to acknowledge the importance of the many people from the South in our community. Even Mayor Ittipon Khunplem did not pass up the opportunity to bond with the people from the South, even though he had to rush off to the airport. The mayor had to travel to Shandong City in China, for a friendship ceremony between the 2 Cities.
The festivity was opened by the Minister of Tourism and Sports, His Excellency Mr. Sontaya Khunpleum, followed by an emblematic Drumming ritual and blazing fireworks.
During the party, the Director of the Board from the Tipmanee Media Network, Mr. Pramote Patanasin, donated 100,000 Baht to the Southern Peoples’ Association, with Minister Sontaya Khunplem receiving the donation on behalf of all the members. The Banglamung Drinking Water company, and many other people and organizations, also generously donated 10,000 Baht each to the association.
The Guest of Honor, Mr. Sontaya received a Buddha Image as a souvenir from Representatives of the association, and this was followed by Southern Traditional Dance Performances by students from Pattaya School No. 6. The party wrapped up with the Final Draw Prizes awarding the lucky winners with a 32 Inch LCD TV and 2 Home Theater sets.
