On Saturday at Toey-ngaam Beach, located in the Navy Bay in Sattahip, Vice Admiral Pongsak Pureerote and a team of naval officers welcomed 1,500 children from the 3 southern provinces of Thailand. The officers were hosting the 22nd Hope Project for Less Fortunate Children by the Royal Thai Navy. This effort helps the children from the southern regions to receive care and opportunities, and not be left behind the rest of the children in Thailand, and is one of many projects to honor Her Majesty the Queen for her 80th Birthday.
The 1,500 youngsters had a chance to swim in the ocean, surrounded by over 500 naval officers. For many of the kids, this was their first time in salt water. The children will spend 4 days and 3 nights at this training session, and the main purpose of this course is to bond Buddhists and Muslims together, as one nationality, and close the doors on anger and prejudice.
