As there have been the situations showing the down time of Buddhism and good moral everywhere and the people turned to be more violent against each others, Nongprue Temple, in cooperation with the Chonburi Provincial Administration Office, the Office for Buddhism, government authorities, local schools and the World’s Morality and Environment Improvement Club, held an activity to prolong the teaching and practice of Buddhism. Encouraging male youths to enter the monkhood and be taught the genuine teachings of the Lord Buddha, will certainly help them to grow up to be good citizens for the country and the world.
Chonburi’s MP Region 7 Mr. Poramet Ngam-pi-chet oversaw the Grand Opening as a witness for the people, while the Head Monk of Nongprue Temple conducted the Grand Opening on behalf of the monks.
The main purpose of this project is to encourage 100,000 boys to enter the monkhood, and that day, 70 boys signed up to become monks. Their hair was shaved off, and they were sent to Dhammakai Temple to finalize their entering the Monkhood. After that, the young boys will be sent back to stay at Nongprue Temple, to be taught the Dharma, until May 13th.
