On Tuesday, the Sattahip Police were notified of a fatal accident on Sukhumvit Road, Km. 175, in front of a PTT gasoline station. Police then rushed to the scene with a rescue squad.
Upon arrival, officers found the body of Sub-lieutenant Thong-sook Chan-sri, aged 73, a retired naval officer, lying on the road. The deceased had sustained a broken neck and skull. The Police also found his daughter, crying beside her father’s body. A witness told Police that a bronze pickup truck with the license plate number BorLor 4419, hit the victim, before fleeing the scene towards Rayong. Officers radioed to block the road but no avail of the offender. The Daughter of the deceased, Khun Su-wan-nee Chan-sri, aged 51, told Police that before the incident occurred, her father walked out the house to buy drinking water and food at the 7-11 inside the gasoline station. The gas station is located opposite the house, across Sukhumvit road. After a couple of minutes, she heard the sound of a collision, and at this point she ran out the house to find her father had been slammed by the pickup, and killed. His body was sent to the hospital for an autopsy, and the Police investigation continues.
