The Eighth Pattaya Livestock Show was held at the Indoor Athletics Stadium, on Soi Chaiyapreuk 2 over the weekend. Sponsored by Pattaya City Hall, in cooperation with the Department of Livestock Development, Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Region, Office of Regional Livestock 2, and the National Beef Breeders Association and many association relating to beef breeders on March 30-31 until April 1st The show allowed all livestock farmers to meet, share and develop their husbandry techniques, and to possibly win a trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Sirithorn.
The contests looked for champion breeding bulls, and judged the heifers and cows as well. Roosters were also big contenders, and showed off their amazing and colorful plumage. There were lowline Angus on display, and well as the new Beefmaster hybrids. Outside the stadium the horses ruled, with Thai cowboys on Appaloosas and Pinto ponies running barrel races in a rather muddy field. Also, not to be missed, was the Drift racing, with hot rod dragsters burning up their wheels as they slid through some sharp curves. And in the evenings, when things cooled down, everyone chilled to the music of great Thai bands.
