On Saturday, the Director of Chonburi Hospital Dr. Chatree Tan-ti-ya-wa-rong held a press conference to state that the Pseudoephedrine stock in Chonburi hospital is all in order, and under control. The whole country was shocked by the news of millions of missing of Pseudoephedrine tabs at many hospitals. Some hospitals are facing accusations that they sold the drugs to narcotics dealers, and investigations are still underway.
Chonburi hospital stated that 34,500 tabs of this drug were given to 1,646 patients in the in-patient department from February 11th - March 29th . A new policy has just issued to suspend buying and treating patients with Pseudoephedrine until the situation improves. The latest update of the stock in the hospital is still about 80,000 tabs. For the patients who really need this drug, it will be limited to no more than 20 tabs per time.
