71 Boys became Novice Monks at a Ceremony at Khao Poe Tong Temple on Sunday. Adhering to the Vinaya, which is the Buddha’s  precepts for monks,  the novices can obtain great merit and dedicate this to their parents and HM the King.  Being a Buddhist monk, even for a short time, is considered one of the best acts that a boy or a man can do for his parents.  The new novices will be in the temple to study the teachings of Lord Buddha from April 1 – 20, before leaving the novitiate to continue with their education.
