Thousands of Sattahip Residents Attend Royal Cremation Ceremony
On Monday afternoon at the Cremation Hall of the Sattahip Navy Base, over 2000 people and government officials attended the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana. The ceremony was in harmony with the whole country, to pay respect and to honor HRH before sending her to her final rest. Sattahip’s Sheriff Mr. Chaichan Iam-jarern lit the joss sticks and candles to start the ceremony.
The ritual was done in front of a photo of HRH Princess Bejaratana, for her actual body was in Bangkok where the Royal Cremation was done by the king. The people and the monks from every temple in Sattahip attended the observance to pray for her eternal happiness, and the rite concluded at 10 pm with the Symbolic Burning of Paper Flowers called “Dorg-mai-jaan” in the crematorium.
