On Saturday morning, the Pattaya Police Investigating Inspector Pol. Lt. Col. Songkram Pan-iam were summoned to investigate the body of a man found floating about 1 km from Lan Island, between Rin Island and Lan Island. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team was also called for assistance.
At the spot, the body of a male Asian, aged 35-40 was floating face down with his waist and his ankles tied by a rope. The body was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. There was not much flesh left around the skull, and his body had been partly eaten by sea creatures. He was estimated to be dead for 3-5 days, and the police assume that he was murdered while working on a fishing boat.
The body was taken to the shore for investigation, and a Member of the Pattaya City Council Mr. Sanit Boonmachai also came to the investigation. The police did find an important piece of evidence which should help identify the man, a tattoo shaped like a gecko on his right arm.
