Hallucinating Man Threatens Bangkok Hospital Pattaya With Gun
As broadcast on National TV on Sunday, a man claiming to be a policeman from the Narcotics Suppression Department was apprehended by Pattaya Police. The man was acting as if he were hallucinating and perhaps plain crazy, as well as waving around a loaded gun. The incident happened at 3 am on Sunday, when the new Pattaya Police Superintendent Pol. Col. Tammanoon Maankong was leading a patrol in North Pattaya, and received a report about a man walking along Soi Potisarn Road with a 9 mm gun, and threatening the people on the road. The man then proceeded to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya where he shot at a door and the floor of a building of the hospital.
The police managed to apprehend him before anyone got hurt. He claimed to be Pol. Maj. Serg. Wimon Sridawong, aged 36 from the Narcotics Suppression Department, and that all his team mates had committed suicide by shooting themselves, leaving only him alive.
He was apprehended, and will be investigated soon. The officers were not quite convinced that he was a police officer, but they were convinced that he was hallucinating from double doses of narcotics. More investigations will follow on Monday when the authorities start work again.
