On Tuesday, the Pattaya Police went to investigate 3 shooting injuries at Pattaya Memorial Hospital. The shooting had taken place at a beer bar on Soi 8 of Pattaya Beach Road, only 30 meters from the Police Station, and in front of the Tripic hotel, about 100 meters away from the first shooting.
Upon arriving, the Police found 1 foreigner and 2 Thais injured. The foreigner, Mr. Michael Gallop, aged 66, had a bullet graze his forehead. Mr. Chan-na-rong Pong-pan, aged 17, was shot in the middle of his back. These 2 victims were shot in the area of the beer bars on Soi 8. The last injury was Mr. Ar-non Kaew-kit-ja-karn, aged 18, who received a bullet in his right rib in front of Tropicana hotel.
The Thai wife of the foreign victim, Khun Tha-na-rat Plook-mor, aged 39, told Police that they were drinking and playing Songkran water games around the beer bars on Soi 8. Then a teenager walked up to them, and before firing at them, the teen asked them “who hurt my friend”? They then ran to hide from these lunatics, and later discovered that her husband and one Thai man had been injured.
A witness told police that there was a group of 5 teens riding motorbikes, and the passenger of a HONDA WAVE, wearing a gray t-shirt, was seen shooting at the victims many times, before fleeing the scene.
For Mr. Ar-non, the Police received no any details of the shooting and surmise that the gunman might be the same as at beer bars on Soi 8.
In addition to all this mayhem, there were also 2 shooting victims admitted to Banglamung hospital. The shooting took place in front of Soot-tha-wart temple. The two victims were Mr. Choo-chai kong-man, aged 23 (Thai man), who had a bullet graze his head and Mr.Tua-lek, a Burmese, aged 20, who was shot in his waist, and sent to Chonburi hospital.
Police assume that the two injured people were playing Songkran water games in front of the temple, when someone suspiciously shot at them. The Police investigations will continue on all these incidents.
