At the Amari Orchid Hotel Pattaya, a seminar to develop strategies and new images for tourism in Pattaya was hosted, under the topic “Pattaya has more to offer than you can imagine”. The seminar was attended by many businessmen from Pattaya, community leaders, local politicians and the media.
The participants included Mayor Ittipon Khunploem, Deputy Professor Dr. Tha-na-wat Pol-wi-chai, Deputy Dean of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Khun Wi-wat Pat-ta-na-sin, the President of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association. Pattaya’s mayor stated that Pattaya needs to create a new image to connect with tourists, which should include complete information about the Pattaya area, not only the entertainment venues for the nighttime, but also the many tourist attractions that are available. In the future, Pattaya will be investing in a high tech communication network, to connect with the entire world. Deputy Professor Dr. Tha-na-wat said that Pattaya should prepare to be a “Window to Asia”, and in the future, the trend in tourism will be to visit the Asian Region, which will certainly boost the growth of the economy in Pattaya.
