Drug Traffickers In Disguise of Street VenderS Tracked Down On Walking Street of Pattaya
On Tuesday, over 50 officials from DSI Eastern Region (Department of Special Investigation) led by its Chief Mr. Prawit Chai-bua-daeng tracked down and apprehended 22 offenders, 4 women and 18 men for being members of a gang of drug traffickers. They were caught along Walking Street with 15 packs of Marijuana, Crystal Meths and Yaba. They thought they were clever by disguising their activities by pretending to be souvenir and toy venders. However, police had been informed of their tricks and had undercover agents watch them for the past weeks.
Then it was time to pounce and DSI officials set up a sting operation to buy some Marijuana from one of the gang, Mr. Atorn Ratsopa, aged 31 for 3,000 Baht.
After the money was paid, the officials and police identified themselves and apprehended all the gang members and the marked bank notes used in the sting operation. Police found more drugs on them as they were sent for prosecution.
