In the afternoon of Wednesday May 9th Pattaya police and volunteers set up a road checkpoint on Soi Juralak off Thepprasit Road.  Their aim was to make a search of vehicles, especially motorcycles for possible illegal drug activity.  From the operation seven people were arrested for proving drug positive and two were caught in possession of yaba tablets and one carrying crystal meths. On the way to the police station, officers saw a group of four young men acting suspiciously when they saw the police.  They also proved drug positive and were put on board the police van.  That was not the end of it, as further down the road the team came across a man being detained by local residents for trespassing around an empty house.  He too was taken to the station for questioning.
