The Minister of Culture, Her Excellency Sukumon Khunpleum, visited the Ban Beung District of Chonburi, to study the situation besetting the egg farmers there. The average wholesale price of eggs has been between 2.90 – 3 baht per egg, but all the egg farmers have been facing increasing costs of production for their eggs, and now are sustaining a loss of 0.13 baht for each egg produced. In this area, the daily production of eggs is around 300,000 eggs, but a loss of 0.13 baht per egg has really started to add up, and impoverish the farmers. This continuing loss has become too much to sustain, so the Minister of Culture promised to look into this issue, and find a solution as soon as possible.
