The Pattaya Open Draughts Tournament of 2012 started on Saturday, May 19 and the final round will be on Sunday May 27, at the Jomtien Garden Hotel on Beach Road. The tourney is hosting a Full house, with many players from China, who are being coached by a former Russian world champ. Also there are many contestants  from Europe, Russia and some 25 people from the Netherlands.

On Thursday May 24, there is a simultaneous charity draughts tournament at the Tulip House, where anyone can play against the champion from last year. The proceeds will go to the Mercy Center kids. Everyone is welcome from 17.00 hrs on, and the entrance fee is 500 baht, which includes a photo with last year’s draughts champion.
