Labor Law Changes for Workers from Neighboring Countries
On Thursday at Kasetsart University in Sriracha, Chonburi’s Labor Department held a meeting with many business owners who have hired workers from neighboring countries. The Labor Dept. needed to address the changes in labor regulations concerning the management procedures and expiration date of VISA’s for all foreign workers from Laos, Burma and Cambodia. the meeting was commenced by Chonburi’s Governor Komsan Ekachai, and, in a nutshell, the new regulations stated that all alien workers’ VISAs will expire on June 14th Therefore, all foreign workers will need to apply for a new registration in Thailand to continue working, in accordance with the new regulations.
Health Insurance, Health Checkups, and VISA Management procedures were also discussed with all the attending employers, including the laws relevant for alien workers employment.
