On Wednesday afternoon, the Pattaya Police Investigating Inspector Pol. Lt. Col. Pongsawat Wongwaan received a complaint from Mr. Udom Jaanjeua, aged 49, the owner of a restaurant on Pattaya’s 2nd Road. He is also the owner of many cars that he rented to P. L. Car Rent Ltd, who sub-leased the autos to clients. The agreed rental fees the company paid to Mr. Udom was 13,000 – 15,000 Baht per month, depending on the brand and series of the car. The contracts started in June 2011 and were to end in June 2012.
The company had paid the rental fees to Mr. Udom every month until the past couple of months, when the payments stopped. From inquiring at the rental agency, Mr. Udom received the explanation that all his cars, including his friends’, a total of about 8 cars, plus the 3 cars owned by the company, were leased to a woman called Mrs. Ratchanee Snider, aged around 40. She had contacted the company to rent about 40 cars, with 1 year leases for each car.
She worked for an agency that helps relocate expats arriving from the international community. Many of these expats work in the numerous industrial estates in the Eastern region, and they all need transportation.
Mrs. Ratchanee paid the leases properly until the past half a year, but she is now missing. Each car owner that invested 1-3 cars with the company have all lost their cars. Further investigations are underway.
