3 Bangladeshis, members of the Bangladesh Rotary Club who visited Bangkok for the Rotary International Convention, and then visited Pattaya for a few days of relaxation in May, were drugged during their visit to Pattaya. One visitor died from the drug overdose, and the other 2 were badly affected, and had to be hospitalized. Therefore, on Thursday afternoon at Banglamung’s District Station, Banglamung’s Sheriff Mr. Chaowalit Saeng-u-tai held a Ceremony to donate some funds to help minimize the losses of these Bangladeshi tourists. The Advisor to the Business Operators and Tourism Association of Pattaya, Mr. Sa-nga Kit-sam-ret, the Chairman of Bangladeshis in Pattaya, Mr. Jahagir Hossain and the CEO of the Pattaya People Media Group Mr. Niels Colov attended the ceremony to witness the donation.
2 amounts of 40,000 baht were given to Mr. Sanjib Saha and Mr. Rashid Harunur, and 100,000 baht was given to a representative of Mr. Rahman Mizanur, for the life that he lost.
In addition to the 3 Bangladeshis, a British man Mr. Akam Pisder, who was assaulted on May 17th , was also given 20,000 baht by the association, making the total donation to the victims 200,000 Baht. The Chairman of the Bangladesh Club Mr. Jahagir Hossain will make sure the funds are properly received.
