On Thursday evening, the Pattaya Police were notified of a suicide at the Golden Pattaya Condominium, on Naklua Soi 18/1. The Police then went to the scene with Sawang Boriboon volunteers.
Upon arriving, the Police found the dead body of Mr. Jari Mikko Majuri, aged 46, a Finnish national, lying face down in a pool of blood, at the edge of the swimming pool on the 2nd floor of the condominium. Beside the body, Police discovered a damaged computer notebook.
The wife of the deceased, Miss Kamolwan Yenturat, aged 30, told the Police that, before the incident occurred, she was in her room 1114 on 11th floor. Suddenly, her husband came in from outside, walked over to his computer notebook without speaking a word, and unexpectedly ran to the balcony and jumped to the ground. She tried to stop her husband, but it was too late. She told the Police that the motive for his suicide may have been despair, because her husband complained that he had bought a stock, but then his stock went down, and he lost everything. However, she did never imagined he would commit suicide. The Police retained all evidence, and the Finnish Embassy will be contacted shortly.
