Press Conference Regarding Tourists Assault Case

On Tuesday, the Commissioner of Royal Thai Police Bureau Region 2, Pol. Lt. Gen. Panya Mamen and the Chonburi Police Commander Pol. Col. Jamnong Ratanagoon held a press conference to announce the arrest of the Moelee Brothers, Mr. Udon, aged 42 a local, and Mr. Kamsaeng, aged 32 from Khon Khan.  Both offenders pleaded guilty to the assault of a tourist, but claimed that they were provoked when the tourist used his fist to hit their pickup, as they were driving out of Central Festival around 3 am. The pickup belonged to Mr. Kamsaeng.

The Commissioner stated that no charges have been made against the Moelee Brothers, as no one has come forward to accuse them, but the brothers gave their apologies to the whole nation for sullying Thailand’s reputation. The brothers do maintain that the foreigner started the donnybrook first.

The Moelee Brothers also insisted that there was no stun gun involved, nor were there any police present, as reported in the news. It was just an ordinary scuffle between his younger brother Mr. Kamsaeng and the foreigner, and he, Mr. Udon, only tried to stop the fight.
