On Friday afternoon, Planet Football, located on Soi Siam Country Club, held a charity football match to raise money for Mr. Adam Pickles, aged 40. Adam has been working as a teacher at an international school here, and on 17th May 2012 he was severely attacked by an unknown Westerner. He was hit with a hammer or a crow bar on the top of his head. Somehow he is still alive, after undergoing operations at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya to remove bone and blood clots from his brain, but he is expected to remain in a coma for at least 2 to 4 weeks.

His family has tried to arrange for him to be sent back to England, but the hospital bills are too much for his family to handle. The intensive care unit he is in is costing around 100,000 Baht per day. So, a group of concerned friends hosted a Help Adam Event at Planet Football to raise money for this cause.
