Sunday morning at Banglamung Hospital saw the Grand Opening of a new medical building called the “80 Pansaa Cha-lerm-pra-giat” or in short version as “80 Pansaa” Building.  The occasion was hosted by the hospital management and conducted  by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior Mr. Yongyut Wichaidit.

Many guests came to attend the ceremony, including the representatives from many authorities and Chonburi’s Governor Mr. Komsan Ekachai.

This new building houses 164 beds for inpatient care. Trophies to show the hospital’s gratitude for the support received from many private sectors were presented to those who donated over 500,000 baht to the construction fund.  which included Pattaya Mayor Ittipol Khunpleum, Mr. Chao Jiramongkon and the Deputy Minister of Interior Mr. Pracha Tereed.

The construction started in B. E. 2550 (2007) when Banglamung Hospital was a lot smaller, and the patients were crowded in limited spaces and beds.

A generous man Mr. Chao Jira-mongkon learned about the problem of insufficient space for patients, and that the budget for a new building would be up to 100 million baht.  Mr. Chao took up this issue with many local and state authorities, and they all began to raise the 98 million baht for a 7 story building in 2007. Thus, it was decided to call the new unit “80 Pansaa  5 Tanwaa  2550” to honor the king, as he was 80 years old in 2007. Mr. Chao donated 15.2 million baht from his own purse, which then inspired hundreds of people to also donate, until the building was completed. The 80 Pansa Building was completed on February 4th, 2010, but the installation of the equipment and machines have taken over a year to complete.  Now, 80 Pansa is ready to serve the people, with 7 floors and 7 departments for inpatient medical assistance.
