On Saturday just before midnight, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team was called for assistance with an accident that had happened about 50 meters from the Tappraya Road-Pratamnak Hill Traffic light. The mishap was between a pickup and a motorcycle, with 1 person reported to be severely injured..
At the scene, a young woman identified as Miss Sumontra Taporn, aged 17 was badly hurt, with blood coming out of her mouth and nose, and scrape wounds on her arms and legs. She was given first aid then sent to Pattaya Memorial Hospital.
About 50 meters further down the road, a Honda motorcycle was found lying in the middle of the road. Its back wheel was twisted, and the rear of the bike was wrecked and unusable. A Toyota pickup was parked nearby with the engine running and a Karaoke TV screen turned on, and there were traces of a collision.
On the road, there was about 100 meter skid mark burnt into the roadway, proving that the pickup tried to brake for about 100 meters. The pickup driver Mr. Prateep Bualoy, aged 38 from Maha-sara-kaam province, claimed that he was heading to South Pattaya on Thappraya Road, when the motorcycle driven by the young women cut in front of him so suddenly that he could not stop in time. But the other side of story from the witnesses was that Mr. Prateep was driving at extreme speed, and was about to lose control going through a curve, therefore he turned the wheel to steady the truck, and hit the motorcycle. Further investigations were tarted immediately by Pattaya Police.
