On Sunday at 2 am, the Pattaya Police led by Deputy Suppressing Inspector Pol. Lt. Pallop Ring-rod patrolled Pattaya Beach Road to prevent and suppress crimes and prostitution in the city. The police managed to apprehend over 50 suspected prostitutes, including ladyboys, found meandering along Pattaya Beach Road from the North to the South, by the entrance to Walking Street, in front of the VC Hotel on Pratamnak Road and Jomtien Beach.
Over 30 offenders of the 50 arrested were ladyboys, or as often called, girldudes. Their names were recorded and they were fined 100 baht each before being let go. These ladyboys are now being observed for criminal activities, such as snatching, pick pocketing and theft, as the recent police records show that a majority of these crimes are committed by ladyboys.
A man, called Miss Uai-chai Su-wan-na-chai- rob, aged 30, was also arrested with an illegal lottery list of her customers, and was charged with this extra offense.
