On Wednesday afternoon, the Pattaya Police Investigating Inspector Pol. Lt. Col. Weerawut Meelai went to investigate a theft in a rented attached house, located in Soi Tantraraak, North Pattaya. The home belonged to Mr. Chalor Yim-cherm, aged 34, and he showed the police where the burglar had gone through many of his possessions, but only 50,000 baht was stolen, not the valuable Buddha image, the coin collection or his expensive camera.
This theft was strange, as the thief only took the cash. Mr. Chalor suspects his son, who lives with his ex-wife, as he now lives with his new wife and her relative. Mr. Chalor also suspects his son because lately, he had started acting like he was addicted to narcotics, and during the son’s last visit, a computer was stolen.
This time, Mr. Chalor and his wife left the house in the afternoon and returned at 3 pm, to find that their room had been burgled. The 50,000 baht had been collected from taxi jacket rentals from all the drivers at Mr. Chalor’s taxi station, and the thief seemed to know about the cash. The police believe members of the family are involved, and will make further inquiries.
