Both the Pattaya Police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team were called on Monday morning to investigate a drowning incident involving a 12 year old boy at Dongtan Beach in front of Pattaya Park Beach Resort.

At the scene, the father Mr. Nakorn Songkraam, aged 27 from Ratchaburi province handed the body of his son Master Jeeranan, aged 12, to the team as the boy has already died 1 hour previously, even though he had done everything to resuscitate him.  

The father stated that he saw his son swimming in the swimming zone as he sat on the beach.   Suddenly a large wave washed over him and he vanished beneath the water.  He dived into the sea and desperately tried to locate his son but when he did it was too late.  The body was sent for death verification.
