Whilst out on routine patrol duty on Monday evening, Pattaya Police officers were walking past a construction site on a street behind Big C Extra in Central Pattaya, when they got suspicious of a gang of people they saw moving around inside. On further investigation they discovered that these people were Cambodians who had entered Thailand without a visa. A total of 20 men, 13 women and 3 children were rounded up and sent to Chonburi Immigration office in Jomtien for legal processing and then escorted back across the border to Cambodia. An investigation is underway to trace the owners of the building site for illegally hiring Cambodian immigrants to work for 200 baht a day without work permits.
