On Monday, the Pattaya police were informed that a foreigner had died in a room at the Pattaya Tower Condominium on Pattaya Beach Road. Police then rushed to the scene with the Sawangboriboon Rescue Volunteers.
At the scene Police found the dead body of Mr. Walter Carl Bolf, aged 79, an America citizen lying face up at the end of the bed, with no top and wearing only shorts. His body had patches of green and blue, but there was no sign of wounds or attack found. Police estimated the man had been dead for 2-3 hours. They also found some antibiotics in the room, but so signs of foul play.
Khun Pi-mon-rit Kan-ja-no-di-lok, aged 43, the person who discovered the body, told the officers that he was the driver for the deceased. Mr. Walter used to be an English Teacher in his hometown, and came to Thailand 19 years ago. Here, he worked as an English teaching volunteer for disabled people at the Pattaya Redemptorist Center, but later he quit because he developed a heart disease. Khun Pi-mon-rit went to see Mr. Walter at the room, but when he knocked the door, there was no answer. So, he used spare key to open the door, and found his employer was dead in the room.
After investigating, the Police believe that Mr. Walter suffered a sudden heart attack. Since the deceased is a foreigner, the body will be sent for an autopsy at the Police’s General Hospital to ascertain the cause of death, and the embassy will be contacted after that.
