On Monday, the Deputy Mayor of Pattaya Wattana Jantana-waranon chaired a press conference to announce the Pattaya Beach Volleyball Open 2012. There were many representatives from various departments attending the announcement, and they drew lots to assign players to the volleyball teams.

The Deputy Mayor said that Pattaya City has beautiful beaches, very suitable for recreation and relaxing, and especially good for beach sports which is popular among the locals and the tourists.

Thailand also boasts Beach Volleyball Athletes who have made a big splash for Thailand in many competitions, such as the Asian Beach Games, and the SEA Games. This contest will develop, improve and promote the skills for this sport, and also to advance a good image for Pattaya City.

The Beach Volleyball Open will be held from Sat. 28 July to Sun 5 august 201, only on Saturdays and Sundays, for a total of 6 days on Jomtien Beach. There will be 2 levels of competition, youths and general public, with 6 groups of men and women, including youths under 14 years old, under 16 years old and finally, folks of any age.
