On Sunday, the Nongkam Police held a press conference to announce the arrest of a gang of motorcycle thieves in Nongkam. The officers had arrested the owner of the Daeng Motorcycle Garage, after his name was given to the police by teenage gangsters caught racing on the highway, who said that they bought accessories from Daeng’s Garage.
The police publicized further that 6 motorcycles and many accessories were found in this garage when the police searched the premises, and the owner Mr. Boonseub Gamlangdee, aged 27, was also arrested.
Most of the bikes had been reported stolen to the Sriracha Police. The owner of the garage Mr. Boonseub claimed he bought the motorcycles from an 18 year-old boy in the same neighborhood, so the police went to question the boy, and found another Honda Wave 125, reported stolen, at the boy’s house.
The boy referred the name of his associate who has entered the monkhood as a novice, at a temple in Sriracha. The police then proceeded to ask the abbot to dismiss the novice for legal proceedings. All the associated criminals were brought to the press conference and will be prosecuted, as the boys have confessed to stealing, then selling, 40-50 motorcycles to Mr. Boonseub for many years, for 2,000 – 2,500 baht.
