Laem Chabang municipality held a free cataract screening service for members of the public on Monday morning.  Held in cooperation with eye doctors from two local hospitals, screenings took place throughout the day to find people with cataract problems to receive free treatment in this community programme. A cataract is an eye disease in which the clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy opaque, causing decrease in vision.  It is most common with elderly people.
