Christmas Golf from the Bowling Green Report and Photos -Barry Hooper This is the second of my stand in reports so again I apologise to all golfers for its abbreviated content.
Thursday December 21st at Khao Kheow It was Rays Day A new name to the Bowling Green, Ray Trembath makes it his day with an A flight Win (on count back), a near pin and a 2s prize Congratulations. Apologies again the course conditions unknown RESULTS: A Flight: B Flight Ray Trembath 34 points hc 14 Ian Kidd 36 points hc 30 Alex Sala 34 hc 13 Colin Cronin 35 hc 25 Ian Covill 33 hc 19 Joel Flor 33 hc 20 Mike Wardman 31 hc 10 Patrick Browne 32 hc 24 Closest to the Pins: Ray Trembat, Alex Sala, Harvey Samuel 2s: Harvey Samuel, Alex Sala, Colin Cronin, Ray Trembath Saturday December 23rd at Eastern Star John Merritt takes it all on Merit Conditions this week were less tricky with the very high winds having abated from the previous week. It was nice to see some new faces amongst the entry at this festive time. Some had success others were not so fortunate. But John Merritt and Carl Lovatt topped out their respective fights with comprehensive point wins. On the return of the players to the clubhouse at the Bowling Green it was time to spring a surprise on the hard working organiser of our outings Fergus Brennon(a very camera shy man it appears) but not this time. The players had chipped in and presented him with a beautiful oil painting of a golfer (I am told based on the famous Tiger Woods) as a thank you from all the players for his hard work. Richly deserved! RESULTS: A Flight: B Flight John Merritt 37 hc 18 Carl Lovatt 33 hc 21 Eamon Murtagh 33 hc 14 Mam Morel 27 hc 36 Harvey Samuel 32 hc 18 Ian Kidd 27 hc 30 Veli Laine 31 hc 8 Alan Evans 26 hc 21 Mashi Kaneta 31 hc 14 Les Burns 24 hc 36 Tony Oakes 30 hc 11 Tony Geeland 24 hc 20 Closest to the Pins: Frank Kelly, John Merritt, Patrick Browne, Mam Morel 2s: Tony Oakes and John Merritt Tuesday December 26th at Century Chonburi Mashi makes it his day and then rings the Bell It was a good turnout of entrants (3 flights) for Boxing Day at Century with a few undoubtedly sporting the effects of the previous days festivities. But this did not stop some very good golf being played. But it was Mashi Keneta who made it his day with an A flight win, near pin and twos win and then came back to the clubhouse and rang the bell for a good time to be had by all present. RESULTS: A Flight:
