Indian By Nature Restaurant The essence of India on a plate.Indian By Nature is a very special restaurant that boasts a prestigious award of quality by the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the oldest gourmet club in the world.
Located in the Chateau Dale Plaza on Thappraya Road it has been running successfully for over 3 years and is owned by well known personality Khun Av Khanijou and husband Khun Jack. Discover the delights of Indian cuisine at its best with unique recipes from Khun Av’s culinary experience as an Indian cooking teacher that she has brought to her restaurant.
At Indian By Nature, there is an extensive range of healthy and balanced dishes that has been refined into a selective menu that includes meat, fish and vegetarian recipes to tantalize the taste buds. All the authentic recipes come from the many regions of India from the humble Naan bread to exotic Mughul specialties. Indian food has such a diversity of flavours from intense heat, mainly from the North to the subtle coconut flavoured tastes of the South. The restaurant is very comfortable and the table layout is immaculate. Indeed, no expense has been spared with many ethnic items being imported from India.
Try Chicken Naan (120 baht) freshly cooked at the nearby open kitchen, where one can watch the food being prepared and cooked to order. Try a ‘house specialty’ called Daal Flambe. A daal dish spectacularly prepared at the table by a captain, who quickly whips up a wonderfully fragrant recipe finished with a dash of cognac and flambeed, adding that extra taste sensation to the dish. The food of India is like no other and for a memorable taste experience then Indian by Nature is indeed the essence of India on a plate. Open Daily for lunch at midday and 6.00pm until late. Telephone: 038-36-4656.
Insg’s Bar & Restaurant It’s a Knockout success at Ingo’s Ingo’s Bar and Restaurant on Third Road is a very clean, modern and unpretentious style restaurant and is quite notable for its unique decor dedicated to the famous Swedish boxer Ingmar Johansen. The bright orange painted walls are literally covered with photo memorabilia of the boxing star, mostly from the personal collection of Mr. John Johansen (no relation) the Norwegian owner of Ingo’s. John admits to being a great fan of Ingmar Johansen (who by the way now lives in Sweden). The menu is short but impressive with a good selection of International dishes, including Swedish, Thai and of course Norwegian recipes. It is quite unique too as one ticks off what one wants on the menu while you enjoy a free appetizer of cream cheese, salmon salad and bread roll. If it is a decent breakfast that you crave then they do a very good set breakfast for a very reasonable 130 baht. There’s a good range of open sandwiches from 95 baht to 140 baht for a delicious Skagen sandwich, a mix of shrimps, dill, onion and mayonnaise on toast.. Starters include Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs on Toast (140 baht) and a colourful Platter of Marinated Herring (160 baht). Sample Meatballs with Cream Sauce (140 baht) or Swedish Special Isterband Sausage with Creamed Potatoes (155 baht). For dessert try a scrumptious slice of a magnificent Jord Gubb Stara; in other words traditional Swedish Strawberry Torte with a great tasting cup of coffee for (70 baht). We recommend you try Ingo’s at 312/5 Third Road. Open daily. Telephone: 038-412-645.
