Medal Competitions at Green Valley and Laem Chabang Tuesday 9th of January Green Valley was the venue for a Medal competition and surprisingly at this time of year we could tee off before the allotted time.
The course is always in good condition but today the greens were almost impossible to read. In joint third place was Phil Smith and Phil Mitchell with net 77 after a count back going to the back 6, Phil Mitchell came out on top. Second place went to Paul Butler with net 76 and the winner was Steve Collins on net 75 recording his first win at the Caddy Shack .There were two 2’s with Jan Eriksen and Mark Graham sharing the honours. Wednesday 10th January. This was a special trip to Laem Chabang over the B +C courses for a medal event. This course is the number 1 in the area and it goes to prove that golfers don’t mind the price for quality conditions. The starting sheet was filled within hours and more than 20 golfers were disappointed they could not get a game. In third place was Samantha Taylor and Dan Rogers with net 75, second Paul Smith on level par and the winner John Truman net 71. There were 3 two's between Roger Altham, Paul Smith and Alan Gower. Friday 12th OF January We played the Emerald and the cut being 15 and under and in division two Samantha Taylor came second with 29 points behind Brian Kelly with 30 points. Division one had John Hughes and Paul Smith tying with 35 points, John winning on count back. The winner was Phil Mitchell off 5 handicap firing 39 points. There were 5 two’s between Paul Smith, Emmet White, Phil Mitchell, Samantha and Mark Joshua. picture is Steve Collins from Ipswich 1st win from Caddy Shack
