The two divisions were split with the cut being 15 and under. In Division Two, Lindsay Joshua came 2nd with a net 77, Pete White scored a net 74 to take the honours. In Division One, Wilf Latham shot a net 75 to come 3rd.  The battle of the day goes to playing partners Dave Smith and Paul Lavender both scoring a net 73.  Dave knew he had the better count back to take the win, there was only one birdie two on the day and that was Gay Brotherton who shared his good fortune back at the Caddy Shack and bought his fellow competitors a celebration drink. Friday the 9th of February.
The Emerald was the chosen venue for a Stableford competition and to our surprise and pleasure the course was virtually empty. The cut was made with the two divisions being divided by 15 and under.  In Division Two last week’s winner Phil Smith scored 34 points to come in 3rd place,

Brian Kelly put in a very good round of 43 points and almost celebrating victory until the very high scoring card of Peter White arrived with a massive 47 points, this took 1st place hands down. The scalpel will be out Peter that’s for sure. In Division One, Mark Joshua and Michael Waltchek scored 36 points a piece.  Michael had the better back nine for the runners up place, by the closet margin the winner was Gary Brotherton on 37 points. On the day there were six birdie two’s. 

The golfers were John Mason, Dave Smith, Clark Alexander, Gary Brotherton and Wilf Latham managed to get two, the holes must have been the size of a bucket to have so many two’s. On certain occasions the Caddy Shack sponsor the near pins with complimentary meals and the winners were NO 5 hole Wilf Latham winning a 3 course Sunday lunch, Hole 7 Brian Kelly won a 3 course Sunday lunch, Hole 13 was again Wilf Latham with a Fish and Chips meal, and Big Ronnie Millward won a fish and chips meal as well.  Once again some very happy golfers on a very pleasant day.
