Plans for Songkran Festival
The Pattaya International Ladies Club held their monthly coffee morning at the Sheraton Resort Pattaya on 3rd April and Rosanne Diamente, President of PILC, discussed the upcoming events of which Songkran Festival was the first on the list.
The Songkran Festival which begins on the 13th April is the original Thai New Year. Some people also call it the Water Festival. PILC organized a traditional Thai Songkran celebration where the members were sprinkled with scented water. The Pattaya International Ladies Club had invited children from Pattaya School No. 9 to the Sheraton to wear Thai costumes and be a part of the colourful event. The teachers of these children agreed and also suggested for the children to perform Thai music and dancing and to sprinkle water on the members of PILC to celebrate the forthcoming Songkran Festival.
