Thai Scrabble Competition in Pattaya Mr. Fahrut Wongborisut chaired a meeting on 4th May in the VIP room at City Hall with Mr. Sermsak Saphanon who is a representative from the Crossword Puzzle Club and Nana
Phoo-Nam Newspaper and Thai language teachers from Pattaya schools concerning a future Mak Kum (Thai Scrabble) competition. “Mak Kum” is a Thai-English language game, which is similar to Scrabble and was invented to practice language skills. There are 2-4 players. The first to roll a 6 starts the game. There is a time limit of 30 seconds to create each word. The plan is to hold a competition for this game to compete for a HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn trophy on National Sports Day; 16th December 2007. The Crossword Puzzle Club and Nana Phoo-Nam Newspaper are trying to promote the game to various schools and institutions around the country and hopefully many will respond back with interest and join in. The goal is to get 40 contestants.
