Peter Miller from The Stone Oven Gourmet Catering and Consulting whose very popular Stone Oven gourmet cuisine is now available for Home Delivery.
The Stone Oven was created by the 42 year old entrepreneur from Copenhagen, Denmark and his wife Tik.
Peter started very young (11 years) as a baker in Copenhagen along with studies. At the age of 15 he was night time manager for a well-known bakery in Copenhagen and at the same time attending college.
He began his "real" career in the fashion industry at the age of 19.
First as sales rep and later sales manager for Ladies Young Fashion in Scandinavia.
Peter slowly drifted into the more creative designing fields of the garment industry.
At the age of 28, he started his own high fashion studio - "Missing link". Based first in Poland/ Russia/ Bulgaria for 8 years with global exports and then expanded with a children fashion line - "Miller Junior".
Peter moved the head office to New Delhi in India some 8 years ago.
As a hobby 5 years ago, Peter established 2 Italian/ French fine dining restaurants in New Delhi. Everything was done "by the book" with Italian/French chefs brought to India for training of staff, prime locations and an ambitious menu card.
The restaurants’ name "STONE OVEN" was to emphasize that they were the only provider in India actually using imported Italian stone ovens for cooking.
In India, the restaurants developed into a "rich man’s catering". Then Peter established STONE OVEN CATERING with a team of 25 people undertaking all kinds of European Fine Dining Catering to embassies, schools and private parties.
However, after residing 25 years in Poland/ Russia/ Bulgaria and India his personal urge to move to a more "sunny" country became bigger and bigger. He had had enough of living in unattractive countries for business, wanting to find a "nicer" country to operate from.
He was sitting down with the globe - looking here and there and finally chose Thailand.
He sold of the garment company 2 years ago and established the first STONE OVEN restaurant on Pattaya Beach Road with the Management "imported" from India and everything according to the same concept. Everything was imported with the best of the best.
However, with experience, Peter realized that Soi 6 was not the correct address for food lovers and haut cuisine, so he converted all the wonderful recipes at the Stone Oven into the present very successful Home delivery/Take Away concept. Still with a profound focus on top ingredients used: Still using genuine Stone Ovens, everything handmade from scratch, using the finest Italian durum flour and creating original French Baguettes, Danish pastries and importing the best quality foreign cheeses and dried meats etc. There are now 2 Stone Oven units, one at the old site on Soi 6 and the other established in April this year in Jomtien Beach Condominiums. In business Peter believes one cannot give high priority to everything and at the same time hit the right target prices.
Therefore he has chosen to give lower priority to "The need of Speed" which other players on the pizza/ pita/ sandwich scene emphasize on. Peter Miller’s Gourmet Catering: A company assisting hotels/ restaurants with recipes, training of chefs, menu cards etc.
