New Constitution and Election

A national referendum held on August 19, 2007 confirmed that a majority of voters accepted the new constitution which was drafted under the interim government. With the public mandate approving the new charter the government can now proceed to hold national elections to choose a new government. The date to hold the elections has been set as December 23, 2007
