According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) starting in September individuals will be permitted to invest in foreign securities through private funds Retail investors will be permitted to invest up to five million US dollars abroad through brokers in overseas stock markets and institutional investors such as universities and charities will be permitted to invest up to fifty million US dollars. Rules and regulations concerning the overseas investments will be announced next month.
