One of Those Days

P.S.C. Golf from the Café Kronborg Thursday, 24th January 2008: Burapha (Stableford). This was one of those days we get very rarely here, and for that I am most thankful. Suffice to say we left
The Cafe Kronborg at 08.15 and I got back in Pattaya at 19.00 hrs, and Burapha is only at most a half hour up the road. Some days are like that, you start slow and go backwards, still suffice to say we got off late and got stuck behind a 'Many Ball' playing off the very back Tees, the Black Ones. Never seen it before, mind it seems they could hit a ball, but what a way to get your money’s worth. We played the C & D Nines, usually the most difficult of the two 18 holes, and on this day with a strong wind it was a real test of golf. Never mind having to wait for every shot, all golfers know how that is. The Course itself was not in bad condition and is showing promise of good days ahead. In the restaurant, and the food is usually good here, as the scores came in it was seen we had a few good scores. In the A Flight 0 to 19 the winner was 'The Admiral' alias Dave Richardson with a fine 39 points ahead of Noddy Moyle with 35 points and Marcus Simmons with 34 points. In the B Flight the winner was Jan Lovgreen with 40 points ahead of Hugh O'Donnell with 38 points and Graham Buckingham in third with 34 points on countback over Norm Martin. It has to be said that after the winners were declared, the place emptied quickly. Near Pin: Leif Kirkegaarde Paul Tomes (2) Utte Long Put: Hugh O'Donnell Mike Winfield
Monday, 28th January: Khao Kheow A & C ( Stableford). The 'Slow' has been on the Golf Courses for the last two weeks, with five hour rounds as normal, but at K.K. it improved to four and a half hours, even though we had two five balls in front all the way around. The Course on the day was in fine condition with the greens in the finest shape they have been in over a year. The ever steady Ebrahim took the A Flight on countback from Chuck Carriere in second and Thomas Buch in third, all on 35 points. In the B Flight the winner was Jack Piercefield with Graham Buckingham in second, both with 33 points. In third was Colin Swann with 31 points on a countback from Brian Noguer. T.T.F.N. Near Pin: Henry O'Brien Mike Winfield Graham Buckingham Chuck Carriere Long Put: Jan Lovgreen (2)
